Overview
This forest site is easy to access with a motorhome, but you feel like you are in the middle of the forest. The site is open and has quite a spacious feel, although it was not busy when we arrived in the rain. The overall appearance was a little different to most sites with fairly long grass growing on pitches (hardstanding) which gave an untidy appearance. As a base to explore the forest and the Wye valley its perfectly suited.
Pitch Description / condition
We had a choice of any standard hardstanding pitch and we were directed to the far end of the site where the views of the forest were the best. There was good separation between the units and a great view, once the rain stopped lol! Most pitches are sloping on this site and ours had our levellers fully extended on the front, but we were still 1 or 2 degrees out of level.

Customer Service
We received a really warm welcome and great advice on where to pitch.
Facilities
There are 3 blocks that we could see on the site, all of the same style and all slightly dated but functional and clean. The motorhome service point had lots of room and was out of the main traffic path. Water was accessible at taps dotted around the site.

Dog Friendly
The site is dog friendly and the forest surrounds the site which provides plenty of walks and runs for dogs. There is also a dog wash station.
Nearby
The forest is the main draw at Bracelands, and it did not disappoint. We walked from the site to Simmons Yat where we had some lunch in a lovely pub on the river. The walk was really nice, however be aware that the campsite is located at the top of a hill so your walk back will be all uphill! The border between England and Wales is in the forest and we have a photo below with me in Wales and Karen in England (at least this is what google maps was saying) lol.
